Hello there and happy 1st Friday of October!
Here are a few of the things that are making me smile this sunny & crisp fall Friday...
- Apples
{photo from flickr user donsutherland1} We haven't been apple picking this year (yet...) but I love this time of year because it means tote bags of apples at the grocery store for 59 cents a pound (!) instead of $4 for a 3lb bag. And they're delicious :-)
- The Modwalls Custom Blender . I'm almost ashamed to say that I discovered this site by clicking on an ad on Facebook. How did they know?? It's great fun to click on the different colors and watch to see what the magical color blender comes up with for your custom tile mosaic. It's a quick, easy way to try out different color combinations as well. I wish you could change the size/shape of the tile...maybe in Blender 2.0.
- The Fish.
It's a two ton, 40 foot sculpture currently on display near Boston Harbor. Isn't it cool?
The Fish is sponsored by HarborArts Inc., an environmental non-profit that uses sculptures to raise awareness of issues affecting harbors and waterways. According to the Boston Globe, the sculpture was created with repurposed sheet metal, steel, wire, nuts, bolts, and sprinkler pipe. It's on display until October 16th, I'm hoping I might be able to make a visit next week when I head to the airport to pick up my mom. It's right across the Harbor--maybe I can just tell her to meet me at the Fish ;-) {all photos from boston.com, by David Ryan}
