We've had beautiful weather here in Massachusetts this September. Clear, sunny, comfortable temperatures.
In fact, I can think of only 2 rainy days this whole month: one on September 12th when we went to an outdoor wedding (pictures coming tomorrow) and one this past Sunday when we went to watch BGD/Daddy compete in his first triathlon since 2006.
The triathlon was at Nantasket Beach and despite the weather (gray, drizzle/rain, wind) we had a pretty good time. Of course I was pretty psyched it was a sprint distance as opposed to anything longer. I can only be cheerful and soggy with 3 kids on a beach for so long...
Anyway, while Daddy raced, we played.
First, Ebby tried to convince Will that she could see Boston in the viewfinder. With no money and all the clouds, not so much.Next, something akin to 'Stupid Umbrella Tricks'. A real crowd pleaser.
The boys thought they'd stumbled on to the set of Wipeout when they saw these big orange balls. Then I ruined their fun when I told them they couldn't jump on them. Such a killjoy I am.
Cuyler, a boy after my own beach combing heart, managed to collect and carry a whole pile of shells during our beach visit. I was impressed at how many he fit in the pocket of his sweatshirt.
And then, an hour and 16 minutes after he started, Daddy was heading across the finish line and our time at the beach was coming to a close.
But I know we'll be back. And hopefully it will be sunny ;-)
