Maybe I motivated myself with my post yesterday...
I'm always on the lookout for frames. I especially like big ones. Ones that can be turned into fabric memo boards : ) I toted this frame all the way from NC. I can't understand how we filled up 4 PODS...
I'm pretty sure I paid $1 for it at the thrift store. I liked it because of the size and the decorative details on the corners. Not so crazy about the color.
When I spied it in the basement the other day, along with some red and white fabric from IKEA, I knew what I would do with it. Finally.
I made a memo board for the boys' room. I had the spray paint out yesterday so I dug out the frame and started the transformation.
And today I finished it up. I cut a piece of foam core to size and layered some batting and the fabric over it. I used a combination of staples and packing tape (I ran out of staples and was feeling a bit lazy...) to secure the fabric and batting. Then I tapped in new nails, flipped it over and called it a day.
Cuyler and Will gave it a thumbs up when they got home from school. Cuyler was even kind enough to pose for pictures with the new memo board.
Tomorrow, it gets hung.
