Christmas window boxes.
Actually, these boxes aren't on windows, they are on our front porch. In a rush of energy Friday I went to Lowe's and bought several pots of white pansies, 2 dwarf alberta spruces and one bag of river pebbles. Even more amazingly, I planted everything Friday afternoon--and I cleaned up. It probably helped that it was sunny and nearly 60 degrees.
For the window boxes I clustered pansies in the center. Then the scavenging began. I went first to the backyard (mind you, our yard is 1/3 of an acre--which includes our house) and found a small pine tree to prune. I filled in the boxes with the pine boughs. On Saturday I found the pine cones in a box of Christmas decorations and added them in. Finally, I clipped the red berries off of a bush in the front yard.
Now to see how before my greenery turns into brownery...
