A couple of weeks ago we (me, Ebby & Bubbe) made (another) quick trip to visit our favorite peeps in upstate NY: the Slyers.
Ok, and for me and Bubbe to attend an art show/sale--you can read about that over on JBD.
One of the great things about the kids getting older is that you can leave them alone to be in charge of themselves for the day.
Of course that means you never know what you'll find when you get home...
Surprise!
Somebody had the great idea that everyone should indulge in a healing spa treatment. But really, they had their bathing suits on from swimming in the pool, there was a whole field of mud, and well, I think things just escalated from there. They were very thorough...
By the time we (me, Bubbe, and Aunt Kathy) made it back to the house, the mud was caked and dried. Apparently they expected us sooner. Blame Hobby Lobby. Anywho, by the time the girls were ready to clean up it was a much more painful experience than they bargained for...
Eventually between picking, hosing and showering, they were clean once again.
Just in time to head out into the acreage and partake in the evening's activity: Bonfire--times 3!
The girls were quite helpful in dragging over brush to the blazes. They did get distracted a few times...
Their reward for their hard work: s'mores!
Thanks to Kathy, John, Caroline, Ruby and Julia for their hospitality during our all too brief visit~next time, you guys come here so we can take you to the beach!
