And I'm back.
The Easter pinata turned out to be a bigger hit than I thought.
Pinata. Hit.
Ha.
First to take his swings was Will. I brought out a wooden bat but luckily we had the foresight to have the kids use the hollow plastic bats instead. Will connected on all 3 of his hits.
Next up: Cuyler. Again, he whacked that helpless pinata 3 times in a row.
Finally, it was Ebby's turn. Bobby Law decided to be clever and lifted the pinata out of her reach. She was not pleased.
She recovered by exploiting the weakened pinata and soon Easter booty began spilling out.
Combs! Candy! Plastic bugs! Lollipops! Dice! Dinosaur finger puppets!
Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, Uncle appeared in full-on attack mode. The remains of the pinata didn't stand a chance.
It's always good to get your feelings out...
The next activity in our nonstop celebration?
Bobby Law's suggestion, my execution and a big hit, I must say.
After ice cream sundaes, time for more down time.
But wait, we had one more item on our Easter agenda: birthday cake!
That's right, we celebrated Grandpa's impending birthday with a cake and a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday--which was either followed or preceeded by an even more rousing (and seemingly endless) full action rendition of the Hokey Pokey.
Phew.
That's right, here at Bowlesville on the Hill, we now how to party.
Whatever the occassion.
