A big thank you to all of you for sending along your greetings to the birthday boy! He was quite confounded with the deluge of email. And then a cake showed up at a work luncheon yesterday. Surprisingly he hadn't told anyone in the Charlotte office that it was his birthday, nevermind how old he was turning. Thanks to a little bird from Boston (Kelly...) the whole office found out. I did refrain from telling the waitress at the Outback though, thought I'd save RLB some dignity. We went home and had cake, ice cream, a few gifts and homemade cards. The big fun came out in the driveway as we awaited the arrival of a slow moving thunderstorm. Daddy did wheelies on my bike, in his shorts and bare feet. Ebby joined in, as did Cuyler but you just can't get the lift when you have those pesky training wheels still attached. The birthday boy was pretty much asleep by 8:30, making good use of the new down pillow I gave him. His parting words to me this morning, "I'm glad it's not yesterday."
By the way, "torch-en chips" are Cuyler speak for fortune chips which are actually fortune cookies which is what Cuyler thought I was serving the other night when I made crab rangoon. Make sense??
