We were at Target today. Finally let Ebby spend some of her birthday money (not to worry, I wrote out investment checks for all 3 kids this morning and mailed them away to their respective college funds). I had the new Coldplay CD in my hand but somehow we came home with Aly & AJ into the rush and Hilary Duff Most Wanted. Worse yet, I was the first one to listen to the Hilary Duff CD. Seems we scored the track "Come Clean" (2005 remix at that). Um, that's the theme song to Laguna Beach (The Real Orange County) on MTV!! What luck! And for those of you not into pre-teen pop culture, Hilary Duff is the star of Lizzie McGuire on Disney Channel, not Million Dollar Baby (clearing throat, winking at Bubbe). And one other sign that Ebby is growing up, I made her not 1, but 3, orthodontist appointments today. We're gonna see if we like any of 'em well enough to pay 'em thousands of dollars re-align our girlie's teeth...
It's official. School starts on August 25th for all 3 of the Bowles children. We got a call from Cuyler's teacher tonight. The kindergarteners only go on one of the first 4 days of school. They call it "staggered entry" here in the south. Pretty sure Will got the teacher I requested but she's out of town so we'll find out for sure in a few days. Of course they both told me today they refuse to be in a class without the other. I've told them about 5 times they won't be in the same class (but will be next to one another). Apparently today they decided to listen for the first time. They told me "we won't do any bad behavior at school" and think that should be their ticket to being in the same class...
